Hi, I’m Katie! Welcome to Planthouse, where I share my adventures in food, travel, wellness, yoga, and just about everything in between. I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach, wellness advocate, educator and yoga instructor.

I was born and raised in San Diego, California but have been living in Washington, DC for the past five years. I’ll always consider myself a West Coast girl, but for now I’m soaking up all the East Coast has to offer!

I graduated from Vanderbilt University with my BA in MHS (Medicine, Health & Society) in 2012 where I studied the social and societal dimensions of health and illness. Through that program, I deepened my passion for making the world a healthier and happier place and formed a strong sense of purpose in empowering individuals to take their health into their own hands.

Upon graduation, I enrolled in both a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program through Corepower Yoga and have been teaching there for 5 years.

In 2013, I received my Certificate in Holistic Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. In addition to my initial training, I am currently continuing my nutrition education through MindBodyGreen’s Advanced Functional Nutrition Program. You can find more information about my coaching practice here!
