Friday Favorites, vol. 9

Another beautiful Spring week come and gone! This is one of my favorite times of year without a doubt, and here in DC we have very few weeks of crisp, sunny weather before the humidity and near triple-digit heat sets in, so I have been doing my best to soak it all up while I can. Yesterday I sat outside without any technology, flipped through a few magazines that had been piling up on our coffee table, and just soaked up some solid vitamin D. It was so good for the soul and I felt like a new person after just a few minutes.

If you follow my Instagram stories, you probably saw that I was desperate for help earlier this week after I injured my neck (& knee) in yoga last week. I usually take things pretty easy on my mat but just tweaked myself out of alignment and was in a ton of pain. Luckily, my friend Charlotte recommended I go and see Pavel at DC Healing and after 2 hours of a very deep tissue and muscle release massage, I am starting to feel like myself again. I have another appointment later today with a chiropractor (thank you to all of you who sent me recommendations) and if I like him I will absolutely post his info.

This weekend we are taking in an afternoon baseball game with my brother-in-law and his girlfriend and generally soaking up the perfect weather we’re supposed to have. I’m also dying to try a new restaurant that just opened in Spring Valley called Millie’s. They have a cute outdoor patio and the menu looks really good.

Here are a few of my favorite things from around the web:

Have you heard of Girl’s Night In?! It’s a newsletter for “boss babes who would rather stay in tonight” (right up my alley) and they share the best tips, tricks, and articles. You can sign up to get the newsletter (which comes out every Friday) here.

A new meditation studio just opened in DC and I’m really curious to try it out!

I just discovered that my all-time favorite chocolate brand, Eating Evolved, now sells their “perfectly imperfect” coconut butter cups at a major discount on their website. It’s cheaper than any other deal I’ve found online and we go through at least one of these a day around here so I’m ordering a few boxes for sure. I’m partial to the caramel and sea salt flavor in case you’re curious.

We are working on a trip to Copenhagen (and maybe Sweden and Finland, too) at the end of the summer and Danielle’s post from her trip there last year has me all sorts of excited. Have you been to any of those places? Taking any and all recommendations!

Laura Wright of The First Mess’ fridge is serious #goals.

Thinking I need to recreate these this weekend with my chocolate chip cookies.
